Excellent Legal Work. Jodie Gilbert was so helpful in putting together my Special Needs Trust and Living Will. She was very patient in listening to all my questions and then very clearly explaining how to go about getting them resolved. This was all done in a very caring and timely manner. I am so thankful for all the time and expertise that she put into these legal documents. I would highly recommend Jodie for help in any legal matters.
Attorney who handles a tricky topic deftly.
Wendi came to speak (for free) at my child’s preschool regarding a Living Trust and Living Will. It was something we always intended to “get around to” once life was less busy. After hearing her speak, we decided almost immediately to hire her and get the process going. She explained everything to us in detail, asked us the “hard” questions with a very personable approach, and we walked out of our meetings with peace of mind. We cannot recommend her highly enough.
Best Specialist for Creating and Maintaining a Trust.
It was my husband’s idea that we needed to establish a trust. After meeting with Wendi, I learned about how to protect ourselves and our son from disadvantageous tax situations and probate court. Making decisions for the trust made us address issues that we may have never discussed otherwise until it was too late. For example, we may not have dealt with powers of attorney or a living will until after we were already incapacitated. Wendi made a time-consuming process much easier to complete through her check-lists, templates, and clear instructions for every task. The binder she put together for us is so thorough and makes something overwhelmingly complicated possible to understand and follow. If I need to remember anything about what we did, I know it is in the binder!
We hired Watershed Estate Planning to create an estate plan for my mother-in-law, who does not speak any English. As such, we attended all the meetings in order to translate what Wendi said into Vietnamese. My wife and I are from out-of-town and Wendi was great about accommodating our travel plans in order to schedule all of the meetings. She was also creative in coming up with ways to address my mother-in-law’s concerns regarding the potential use of her home after her death, and how to treat a number of family-owned businesses. We really enjoyed working with Wendi, and my mother-in-law feels comforted knowing her wishes were honored in the design of her plan.
Getting my Paperwork in Order
After a health scare, I realized that I needed to have a complete Will as well as Medical and Financial Powers of Attorney, making it easy for my family to take care of business for me if I ever needed it. Wendi helped me put all of this into place. Wendi was knowledgeable, prompt and thorough. It gives me great peace of mind to know that my assets are well protected and my loved ones are provided for.
We had a wonderful experience drawing up our estate plan with Watershed Estate Planning. We just finished the process and feel a sense of relief and confidence that everything is laid out as we desired. We appreciated the video experience and feel good about the fact that if something were to happen, the video would provide comfort to our children.
Watershed Estate Planning offers a thorough service. Wendi’s calm and organized manner made it easier for us to follow the process through to the end. She answered my questions clearly, until I totally understood the answer.
Wendi was very patient and took the time to understand our circumstances and needs.
Often questions came up for me after our meetings. She was very timely with her responses to my questions. Wendi asked great questions, that got me thinking in different ways. For example, I used to think “that tree I’d like to buy to plant in the yard is kind of expensive.” Now I think about it and say, “Do I want to plant the tree and enjoy watching it grow or do I leave $200 more to one of the many charities we have set up in our estate planning?”
Wendi gave us the option of having Watershed Estate Planning set up the changes that were necessary to fund the trust we created, or we could do it ourselves with her guidance. We chose to have her make most of the changes for us. She has followed up on several occasions to see that all the transactions had been successfully done. She also sent a letter advising what happens next and to remind us how to add new assets to our trust. Having gone through this process I feel confident that I am not leaving my family with a mess to sort out. I have the comfort in knowing that my future is planned to the best of our knowledge at this time in our lives and that we will review our estate plan with Wendi every three years to make any necessary changes.
We have recommended Wendi’s services to many of our friends and family.
